华慧考博英语基础语法之主谓一致
在考博英语初试笔试中，主谓一致这个语法基本上是必考内容，最常出现在选择题，完形，翻译，和作文中。在选择题和完形中出现时，主要是着重单独考该语法。而在翻译和作文时主谓一致则是将句子写正确的前提。以下华慧考博老师就常考出现的一些主谓一致做相关总结，望各位考生在做题时注意正确使用该语法：
1. 不定式短语、动词ing形式或名词性从句作主语，谓语动词用单数形式。例如：
Sleeping eight hours a day is good at heath.(动词ing 形式作主语)
每天睡八小时对身体健康有好处。
To be working all day long is a bore.整天干活使人厌倦。(不定式短语作主语)
Why we decided to put off the match is that the weather was too terrible. (主语从句作主语)
我们决定推迟比赛的原因是天气太糟糕了。
2. “名词或代词+由with、together with、along with、as well as、besides、but、except、including、 in addition to、 like、no less than、 rather than等引起的短语”作主语时，谓语动词与前面的名词或代词的数一致，也就是我们常说的“就远原则”。例如：
Dr. Smith, together with his wife and daughters, is going to visit Beijing this summer.
史密斯博士今年夏天将带着妻子和女儿去北京。
On the contrary, I think it is Truman, rather than you, is to blame.
正相反，我认为该受责备的是杜鲁门，而不是你。
3. 不定代词one、no one、the other、another、 anyone、 anybody、 someone、 somebody 、everyone、 everybody、 nobody、 anything、 something、 everything、 nothing 、each 、either 以及被each、 either 修饰的名词作主语，尽管有些表示复数意义，但是它们的谓语应该用单数形式。例如：
Every boy and girl in the area was invited.
这个地区的每个男孩和女孩都被邀请了。
Fortunately, nobody was around so nobody was hurt, but that happened without warning. 所幸没有人在场,因此没有人受伤,但它是在没有任何警报的情况下发生的。
4. “more than one/many a +单数名词”作主语时，谓语动词用单数形式。例如：
Many a writer of newspaper articles has turned to writing novels.
许多写报纸文章的作家转而写小说。
More than one person was absent.
不止一个人缺席。
5. “分数(百分数)+of+名词”以及“all (most some any half a lot part the rest)+of+名词”作主语时，谓语动词的数与of后的名词的数一致。如：
Four-fifths of people on the Net believe China’s economy is among the strongest in the world. 五分之四的网民认为中国经济是世界上最强大的经济体之一。
The rest of the magazines were sold out within half an hour.
其余的杂志在半小时内就卖光了。
6. “a number of +复数名词”意为“许多”，作主语时，谓语动词用复数;“the number of+复数名词” 意为“......的数目”，作主语时，谓语动词用单数。
A number of boys are singing songs.
许多男孩在唱歌。
The number of students is getting larger and larger.
学生的数量越来越多。
7. “a+单数名词+and a half ”和“one and a half+复数名词”作主语，谓语动词用单数形式。
例如: A month and a half has passed.
一个半月时间过去了。
